Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC)

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) licensed in the State of Louisiana to join our team. The PLPC will provide counseling services under approved supervision in accordance with the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners regulations.
Position Summary:
The PLPC provides individual, family, and/or group counseling services to clients experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental, or mental health challenges. Services are delivered under board-approved supervision while working toward full LPC licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy services under supervision.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and assist in treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Louisiana regulations, Medicaid, and insurance requirements.
- Participate in required supervision hours as mandated by the Louisiana LPC Board.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate client care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and ethical guidelines.
- Engage in continuing education to maintain licensure requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Current Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) credential in Louisiana.
- Board-approved supervisor secured in accordance with Louisiana LPC requirements.
- Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or families (if pediatric setting).
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavioral interventions.
- Experience with Medicaid or insurance-based documentation.
Work Environment:
Services may be provided in outpatient clinic, telehealth, or community settings depending on assignment.
