Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team. The COTA will primarily be responsible for implementing therapeutic programs prescribed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT) to support clients in achieving functional independence and meaningful participation in daily activities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist based on established goals and objectives.
- Promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, feeding, grooming, and functional mobility, through structured intervention and adaptive strategies.
- Observe client performance, problem-solve barriers to participation, and suggest positioning or environmental adaptations to enhance engagement and maximize function.
- Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to discuss client progress and adjust interventions as directed.
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate data to assist in determining progress toward established goals.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, caregivers, and parents to support coordinated care and carryover of skills.
- Maintain professional documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in pediatrics preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
